Cynthia Breazeal LG Career Development Professor of Media Arts and Sciences, MIT Media Laboratory Cynthia Breazeal directs the Media Lab's new Robotic Presence group, having previously been a postdoctoral associate at MIT's Artificial Intelligence Lab. Breazeal is particularly interested in developing creature-like technologies that are human-aware and establish a close and beneficial relationship with people. "Kismet," her anthropomorphic robotic head, has been featured in international media, and is part of Breazeal's ongoing work of building artificial systems that learn and behave with people in an intelligent, life-like, and sociable manner. Breazeal earned ScD and MS degrees at MIT in electrical engineering and computer science, and a BS in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
